On the first day of May.
Although workers Day we have no holiday. While we were in Htawku villege a young girl was brought by mother to me. I was told by her mother that the girl could not open her mouth since a few days ago after toothache associated with swollen right angle of jaw. I let her open her mouth. Terribly she couldn't. Only little finger allowed in. I knew that this was concerned with Dentist. This was tooth abscess with inflammation. I immediately referred to our Dentist.
After seen by Dr. Thaung, he discussed with me to start ceftriaxone and Metronidazole after correction of her poor status with suitable nutrition. On day 2 dwelling was not reduced well and pain was not tolerated. Dr. Thaung discussed with me to increase the ceftriaxone three times a day and let her stay onboard the ship like a admission in hospital and to give pain reliever. At day 2 night time, her swelling at right angle of jaw was more worse. On day 3, under local anaesthesia she underwent first tooth extraction and pus drainage under general medical team stand by. Tooth extraction and pus drainage was successful. On day 4, second tooth extraction and some more incisional drainage was done. On day 5, she could smile. No pain. No fever.
On day 6, she was ready to be discharged. We offered 30.000 kyat for transportation by car. Her journey home back was full of joy carrying our merciful deeds. Dentists as well as Heroes of SD3. Thanks and regards
