Dear Professor Mutschler, Dear Mr. Gessner,
I'm Kyaw Sann Lin and like to report to you about SD-2 Mission 4 / 2015 which was completed on 23/06/15. This Mission served a total of 8 villages, 3 are our old once and 5 were new villages but not too far from some our old original villages. The reason we went to the new Villages was on the request of the Chief Minister from the Irrawaddy Division. He is the the one who actually permitted the continuation of our Operation in the Delta.
New Patients 913
Return Patients 170
Free of Charge 126
Total Patients 1,209
15 Minor Operations, mainly small tumors and glands, one normal Birth
Income Operation MMK 70,000.00
Income Dentist MMK 221,000.00
Patient Fees MMK 913,000.00
Medicine charges MMK 325,000.00
Laboratory charges MMK 184,500.00
Total Income MMK 1,713,500.00
Since the people in the new villages are mainly small scale farmers, farm helpers, fisherman the Chief Minister asked us to be reasonable with our charges. We charged each person a flat fee of MMK 1,000.00 which included medicine as well. We are thinking to charge maybe on our coming Mission the Medicine separately, please give us your idea. At the moment it looks that people in that area have a bigger requirement for medical services, Moses is operating in the same area but it seems it still not enough to cover the medical requirements. The returners are from our old 3 villages and 2 other old villages were the people came by boat. We plan to increase slowly the surgical operation activities. Mission 5 will leave on 01/07/15. We will go to our old villages and since some of the new villages are not too far away we will include them as well. For the coming trip we will have a new Dentist who will work under Dr.Sithu for a couple of trips. At the moment we have a additional experience doctor (Female) on board who is assisting us until we find a new young permanent doctor. Please let me know if you need more information. Regards, Kyaw
